A nationwide SUD/MH healthcare startup focused on acquisitions; healing underfunded conditions, demographics, and communities. At Zinnia Health I began as a Sr. Project Manager which after a year turned into a Chief of Staff and Sr. Product Manager role focused on building products to optimize our financial fluctuations and operational processes.

TEAM AND CULTURE

At Zinnia Health, I played a vital role in fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency. By introducing new AI/ML tools, standardizing processes, and leading cross-functional teams, I helped create a collaborative and forward-thinking environment that empowered teams to work more data-friven and effectively, connected to a shared mission.

ADAPTABILITY AND PROBLEM SOLVING

The nature of healthcare presented unique challenges, from complex compliance requirements to evolving patient needs. Adaptability and problem-solving skills are crucial and I demonstrated those through projects like the AI-driven notes generation tool, where I streamlined documentation processes and ensured compliance, quickly adjusting to regulatory changes and organizational shifts.

INITIATIVE AND PROACTIVITY

I designed solutions that addressed inefficiencies, such as the Estimated Insurance Value (EIV) Calculator, which optimized client placement and significantly improved revenue. By proactively identifying needs and taking action, I was able to support Zinnia Health’s growth goals and improve both operational efficiency and financial outcomes.

LEARNING AND GROWTH

At Zinnia, I embraced a continuous learning approach, gaining a deeper understanding of AI/ML applications, healthcare compliance, and adapting agile methodologies to fit the organization’s needs. This mindset not only accelerated my own skill development but also allowed us to introduce innovative solutions that added strategic value.

CROSS FUNCTIONALITY

My role required extensive cross-functional collaboration, working with departments like admissions, billing, and medical operations. Through effective communication and teamwork, I ensured alignment on complex projects like our Notes Generation tool and the pre-approval admissions tool, bridging the gap between technical solutions and practical healthcare applications.

STRATEGIC SCALABLE THINKING

I maintained a strong focus on the big picture, aligning our projects with Zinnia’s overarching goals. Whether it was automating patient admissions or enhancing compliance, I strategically planned initiatives that would have a lasting impact on both the organization and patient outcomes.

CUSTOMER / USER IMPACT

I directly improved experiences for stakeholders, from healthcare providers to patients. By creating tools that streamlined patient placement and documentation, I helped clinicians focus more on patient care, improved operational efficiency, and enhanced client satisfaction with Zinnia’s services.

VALUES AND MISSION

Zinnia Health’s commitment to quality care and innovative solutions resonated deeply with my own values. I prioritized scalable and impactful solutions, even making the difficult decision to step away when the organization’s priorities conflicted with my own commitment to sustainable growth and effective resource use.

DEPARTURE

My time at Zinnia Health was pivotal for my personal and professional growth. I left on positive terms with the executives I supported, and during my tenure, I helped navigate the financial challenges that can arise in a debt-funded, brick-and-mortar startup. Our team maximized the utility of our technology infrastructure, pushing it to new limits. As Zinnia reached a natural pivot point in its tech vision, I’m proud of the impactful work I contributed to during a critical growth phase.
